Xx remixes pop up every now and then, especially for “Crystalised”; here’s a minimalistic approach by Dark Sky with a beat that you will be addicted to in no time, and an Andy Murphy remix featuring a guitar-electro bassline that’s just a bliss to listen to.

Out of tune

I couldn’t really specify the genre that Dimlite‘s songs belong to, his description “out-o’-tune” seems fitting indeed. You can pick up his latest EP, Prismatic Tops here.

I was trying hard not to post music from Cocorosie, mostly because it tends to be ‘too alternative’ for people in general. With their new album however comes a song that’s merged with enough electronic beats that it may even appeal to those who wouldn’t go anywhere near ‘acid folk’ or the likes. If you actually like “Fairy Paradise”, imagine it with instrumentals and consider buying the album.

Some of you might remember Mouth’s Cradle, a two-man formation I featured a while ago. I am now proud to present Johannes Greve Muskat‘s (a.k.a. Joe’s) first full-length work, an official music video for their song “Demon”.

A quick note about the video that Joe wanted me to share: “Tell them that it didn’t turn out quite the way I wanted it due to time limitations with the ‘actors’.” Well, I love it anyway.

You can find the clip on both Vimeo and YouTube, make sure to leave him a kind word or two if you liked it! (Mouth’s Cradle’s album is available at iTunes as usual.)

Guns of Brixton

Nouvelle Vague is completely different from the usual electro I post, but one shouldn’t be afraid of widening his/her musical perspective. I picked “Guns of Brixton” from their self-titled album because it’s very powerful, even though it’s “just” a cover.

Religion properly electrifies anything that comes in their way, like the Crookers / MixhellSoulwax collaboration “We Love Animals”. Some of their own stuff is up on Beatport for sell as well.

I love the retro-ness of this song (thanks Hot Biscuits for bringing it to my attention). Paper Tiger‘s new album “Made Like Us” is out this Sunday, you can listen to a few other tracks ’till then.
