I received a concise suggestion the other day (i.e. a month ago) that immediately piqued my interest. Apparently this not widely-known video game, Neotokyo has an exceptional soundtrack by the even less-known music producer Ed Harrison.
The album consists of mostly moody, melodic and instrumental-heavy electronica, often with drum but without bass. Like most soundtracks it’s non-obtrusive, but unlike most soundtracks it is consistently enjoyable and is without fillers.
The soundtrack can be found amongst the game’s files, or bought here with a dozen bonus tracks included.
